Celebrating 43 Years

Yikes, 43. Years. I'm older than I thought I was. Oh well, it's just a number!

My email was full of birthday ecards this morning. Since I love showing my paper cards to folks, I thought I'd share my ecards, too. If you don't want me to share the ecard you sent, then don't send one. I'm just sayin'.

I Be Gappin'

I'll never understand the rationale, but the organizers of the Better Start Living ride have, at the last minute, postponed it a day to Sunday, Sept 27. It was originally scheduled for Saturday (tomorrow). And not only have they changed the day, but they also changed the time to 1:00 pm! They just lost two potential riders as Ray'm and I were both planning on it. But that late start is out of the question. I was toying with the idea of doing it on Saturday AND the 3 Gap Ride on Sunday, for which I'm preregistered although undertrained. Now it looks as though I'll do the Gaps, and hope I won't have to SAG in or, shudder, crash on the nasty descents.

Name that Bug Part 2

When Nature Attacks.

Got stung by this little guy this morning while moving a plant out into the rain.


He doesn't seem to be eating it, just hanging out. Didn't squish him because I thought he may be a luna moth? That would be very nice. But what isn't nice it the little bugger left quite a whelp on my arm, turning into stinging little blisters.

The photo doesn't really show. Guess I need to keep a professional photographer around :) Bragging rights to the first person to identify it.

Boat Dreams

I have lots of boat dreams. Not the asleep kind. The goal kind. One of them is to go though the Panama Canal. On a sailboat, with Ray'm, of course. Just found this time-lapse videos of a cruise ship going through. Just makes me want it even more. Fun watching other boats come through; the take off like litte speed boats compared the big cruiser. Enjoy!
